Commercial Appraisals

Commercial Appraisal Services

The value of commercial property plays a key role in determining how the asset will perform as part of a portfolio. Driggers Commercial Group has appraised nearly every commercial property type. These include the standard products (apartments, office buildings, retail centers, industrial centers, condominium complexes, hotels, subdivisions), as well as more unusual property types like wholesale furniture marts, summer camps, colleges, auto auctions, manufacturing facilities of all types, horse tracks, marinas, and more.

Appraisals are generally needed when a property is being sold, mortgaged, taxed, insured, or developed. Appraisals are estimates of value based on data as analyzed by the appraiser. Such data may include public ownership and zoning records, demographic information, comparable sales, replacement costs, and rentals. Extensive data is analyzed to form an opinion of value, and most commonly communicated in a Narrative report.  Condensed reporting formats can also be used for cost and time savings.  These formats can include Restricted reports, Forms, and Evaluations.

Quality is more important than cost when choosing a commercial appraiser. Driggers Commercial Group’s appraisal staff are members of the Appraisal Institute, the premier professional organization for the appraisal industry. Association with this organization requires strict adherence to the Code of Ethics and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). It also requires significant continuing education, on an annual basis.

Robert Driggers, our president, holds the Appraisal Institute’s MAI designation. He is certified in multiple states, and has served as an expert witness in numerous court cases. Robert has been heavily involved in the appraisal industry, having served on various committees of the Appraisal Institute over the years.

Robert Driggers has also amassed over 1,000 hours of continuing education over the past 20 years. He is a regular instructor of the Appraisal Institute’s Basic Appraisal Principles and Basic Appraisal Procedures courses.

Among our other staff, Gary Grinstead, Russell Sweat and Chris Kennedy hold the Certified General classification with the State of Georgia. Gary Grinstead is also certified in Florida.  Chris Kennedy is also certified in South Carolina

While our staff is located in Atlanta and St. Simons Island, Georgia our appraisal assignments are performed all over the Southeast United States.
